GO-TO GUY!
Bob Glaub is one of the premier session aces working today and has provided the bottom end foundation for artists like: Jackson Browne, Don Henley, John Fogerty, Warren Zevon, John Prine, Bruce Springsteen, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Dusty Springfield, Linda Ronstadt, John Lennon, Rod Stewart, and many others. Since the '70's, Bob's solid sound and tasteful playing have become unmistakable. Bob's career got rolling when he worked with guitarist Jesse Ed Davis and their subsequent friendship lead to more studio work. Bob hasn't stopped playing with A-list rock stars since!
Bob believes bass is the backbone of music-holding down the bottom line and supporting the melody. He carefully considers the singular nuances of each artist he works with when building a line, an attentive approach that has made him highly sought-after. His philosophy on bass playing is to exercise "simplicity and taste," and simplicity and taste also inform the design of our Bob Glaub Signature Model basses.
Developed in conjunction with Bob, the Glaub is modeled after his old workhorse '64 bass. One custom-wound Lakland pickup provides a bruising punch and drive that nails the vintage split humbucker tone, sending it through the roof with full voicing and modern energy. The body and 34" scale maple neck have an excellent balance. Hear it!> Hear P/J Model>
SKYLINE SERIES
Our Skyline Bob Glaub Signature shares the same aesthetics and Lakland hybrid pickup as the US-made version, modeled after Bob's own vintage 1964 workhorse bass. The Glaub captures the rich and defined power of those early basses that revolutionized the four-string low-end world. The tone and power of a well-preserved vintage instrument with flawless Lakland fretwork and neck refinements make this another of our modern classics.
The bottom line on Bob Glaub: Bob's studio and live resume includes work with Jackson Browne, Dwight Yoakam, Linda Ronstadt, John Fogerty and Don Henley.
